Given OSL’s expertise in both the water and rail industry, our client knew who to call when a water main sprang a leak under a rail line at Rugby Depot. OSL mobilised within hours to assist the water company, undertaking removal of the permanent way and ballast to allow the water main to be exposed and repaired at a depth of four metres. With the permanent way relayed, OSL are now carrying out track monitoring to ensure the safety of the line. Well done to the team, quick response, fast mobilisation, railway back in service.
OSL have again proved their worth in helping our client to deliver the next phase of track renewals on the Tyne & Wear Metro. Working around the clock over a 52 hr possession, OSL’s Installation Team supported our client to deliver the latest phase of the upgrade programme on the Metro. This was the third blockade of a seven stage programme running throughout 2016 where OSL have successfully supported our client and the Tyne & Wear Metro Operator Nexus in providing essential upgrades to the system. A great effort by the team, proving once again OSL are the Delivery Partner of Choice.
OSL have successfully completed Stage 1 & 2 works at the new Intercity Depot in Doncaster. OSL provided Signalling Installation and Testing Staff to commission the first two stages of a project to facilitate the opening of a brand new rail depot in Doncaster that will be used for the new Intercity Trains on the East Coast Mainline. Our client praised the performance of the staff involved and both stages were handed back ahead of programme. OSL are now looking forward to working with our client to complete the project over the summer months.
OSL have supported the Tyne and Wear Metro in delivering improvements to their network at St. James’ Park Station. Four new point ends were successfully installed and New Works Tested by OSL’s Installation and Testing Teams and were signed back into service early. Working collaboratively with our client and the Network Operator, the project was successfully delivered – once again reaffirming OSL as the Delivery Partner of Choice.
The Gresty Lane Resignalling Scheme was successfully commissioned on the morning of 8/12/15 for Siemens and the Manchester office. The lessons to be learnt from this project going forward will help OSL improve the way in which they deliver schemes in the future, resulting in more efficient working, cost management, resourcing solutions and fatigue management.
OSL have successfully commissioned the Level Crossing Modifactions as part of the Cranbrook Station Development Project. In just 4 weeks from Contract Award to Commissioning, involving Location Case Manufacture, Civil Design, on site civil works, signalling installation and commissioning, the OSL team have once again demonstrated their ability to work together for successful project delivery.
