Independent Vision (Mere) Ltd was formed in September 2010. The company was initially a reseller of Electronic Magnification covering the South West and South Wales.
In May 2011 after recognising the need for an alternative to direct purchase it was decided to change the direction of the company to incorporate the renting out of Electronic Magnification and Reading Machines alongside continuing to sell the equipment.
Now working throughout England and Wales, the company has gone from strength to strength as people with sight loss and severe sight loss, and professionals who work in the field, realise the flexibility of hiring.
Ian has worked for over fifteen years within the low vision industry primarily selling Electronic Magnification and other products related to assisting people who are severely sight impaired. Ian was employed initially by Concept Systems and then by Tieman UK Ltd before becoming Sales Manager for Enhanced Vision Europe Ltd. During these years Ian has had the opportunity to work with Access to Work assessors and private individuals as well as building relationships with local associations for blind and partially sighted.
Enhanced Magnification has helped many people with low vision regain a level of visual independence that is not achievable with conventional magnifiers. Using a screen and camera system, not only allows the user a greater level of magnification, it also gives an even magnification across the whole viewing area.
