As part of a survey run by Davies Veterinary Specialists we are looking for owners of Cockapoos to come along on Saturday 17th February so our ophthalmology team can check your pet’s eyes. The checks will be free of charge and held at Davies in Hertfordshire*.

The Cockapoo is becoming an increasingly popular family pet in the UK. However, as a crossbreed the Cockapoo is currently not recognised by the Kennel Club and is therefore unregulated from a disease surveillance point of view. As a department, we are interested in trying to determine the prevalence of ophthalmic abnormalities within the UK population of the breed and comparing it to that of both parent breeds for which there are well established health surveillance programs in place.

We, as veterinary practice staff, are taking part in a 10k sponsored walk to raise money for Bedfordshire wildlife rescue. They are a Home based charity which cover the whole area of Bedfordshire to Care for and rehabilitate sick and injured wildlife 🦔🕊🐿🐦🦊There are many reasons wildlife get sick or injured and if we as the public can do something to help towards helping these lovely people that do such a fantastic job then that’s the least we can do to keep OUR wildlife alive 🐾
