Alison operated across the US, Europe & India at Director level for 10 years, before setting up Flamingo Consultancy in 2010.

“As a charity we had to be mindful of the cost of bringing in a consultant and wanted someone who could be very flexible in the way they worked. I was very conscious of the pitfalls not least that of making a costly mistake with regard to employment law.

We’re a close knit organisation and if we were going to bring in someone from outside it was it was essential they had the people skills to get my colleagues’ trust and confidence. Alison helped me secure board support for the proposed restructure, and significant personnel changes were made and long standing issues were grasped; everyone was treated fairly, equitably and legally. As a result we have a much more efficient and effective organisation. There is greater clarity around people’s roles and responsibilities and I believe we are well set up now for the next phase of our development.
