My entrance into the job market as a clerk within a large Insurer at the beginning of my career in insurance, forged solid foundations and this helped me hugely in getting me to the position I find myself in today. The routine at that office ensured that everyone took their turn in the various roles available and did not get entrenched in one set of tasks. The knowledge gained was invaluable as it provided an insight into the bigger picture of the insurance personal lines industry and allowed me to decide which path I wanted to take going forwards. The training, both on the job, and targeted training methods and procedures, has meant that to this day, I have a solid and knowledgeable background from the very basics to the most complex of matters and can use my knowledge of others areas, such as underwriting, to make understanding and well informed decisions.
Over the years, I have developed good business sense and a shrewd mind. I believe a good personal injury expert requires something ‘special’ and that something is within that person’s personality and outlook generally.
