Wick Award is a Big Local project, funded by the National Lottery to support local initiatives and help people grow good ideas.
- Making sure Wick residents benefit from training, employment and self-employment opportunities.
At least £1 million is available to each area over the next ten years. Local areas use the funds to provide a mixture of grants, social investments, loans, micro-finance and support. This means that some of the money distributed in each area can come back to Big Local and be reused in the local area again and again. Communities have the skills and ideas of their own to identify local issues and develop solutions to them. Big Local supports, challenges, trains and encourages people and groups to develop and take ownership of the programme in their local area. It is a locally driven approach to help communities fulfil their ambitions and make their local areas better places to live.
We are supporting a range of community events throughout the summer come and join us!
We are working with WSA Community to train and support a group of Hackney Wick residents, aged 18-80, to become Community Researchers to collect information from residents on their experiences of living in the WickAward area and their aspirations for the future. As part of this project, we have developed the survey below.
If you are a Hackney Wick resident or work/play/volunteer in the WickAward area, please help us by completing the survey which will take no more than 5 minutes.
Thank you for your help!
