Express Hire can supply a wide range of plant from wacker plates to 14 tonne excavators. When required, skilled plant operators, all of whom hold approved certificates, can be provided.
Our plant consists mainly of top market branded equipment, purchased by us from new. The quality and reliability of our machinery drastically reduces down-time on client’s sites. Our policy of regular investment, maintaining and expanding our fleet is our commitment to our clients that we will provide an efficient and fully operational plant hire service ensuring that our customers have their plant ready when and where they want it.
In 2015 Express Hire introduced a new division of the business called Express Gases. Express Gases supply Calor Gas, Hobbyweld Industrial Gases and we are the local agent for Air Products, supplying Industrial Gases to a variety of customers based from our gas yard at Bournemouth Airport. Visit
Our Airport department has grown rapidly and we now have a large storage yard for Express Hire based at the Hurn site, making deliveries and collections to and from customers more productive.

Judy started the business back in 1990 with her late husband, Martyn. Starting with just a couple of small excavators and a few jobs for local contractors the business was set.
Judy now has the overview of the business leaving the day to day running of the company to her managers.
Gary came in to the company back in 2008, his previous experience within the hire market has been an excellent advantage to Gary growing the business and managing the staff & fleet within the business.
Within the management team Gary, plans and schedules all the deliveries. Gary also manages the invoicing & customer order processing for both company divisions to list just a few things.

Andy joined the management team in 2014. Andy had been working with Gary in various business roles since 1999, and hiring from Express Hire whilst working for a national company. Andy looks after the customer accounts, the business marketing, and together with Gary customer order processing for both company divisions to list just a few things.
Godfrey has been with the company since the start. He was the initial plant fitter and delivery driver for the business and now in his 60’s he is the most senior member of the team. Godfrey is skilled with years of plant experience and can operate all of our plant on your site. When needed, Godfrey is trained to work on the Express Gases team.
Glen joined the business in 2015 and has developed through the ranks undergoing training to operate machines on site and to drive our complete range of vehicles. Glen is our Landscaping specialist so has the task of managing our landscaping fleet.
James is one of newest member to our team, he is currently in training for every aspect of our business. James has already mastered the basics for our gas business.
Tony has been with the company since the beginning, his knowledge of the machines and how to get the best out of loading on to the trucks is second to none. Tony drives our biggest of delivery vehicles.
Ian joined the business in 2008 as a plant operator but over the years has developed his skills and has now been trained to drive our biggest of delivery vehicles.
Gavin joined our team in 2016, he has previous experience within a national company where his training covered small tool repairs, servicing and testing. When needed, Gavin is trained to work on the Express Gases Team.
Luke joined our team in 2016 as one of our workshop team, Luke manages all the fleet serving, breakdowns and inspections. With over 300 different products, Luke has his hands full but always has a smile on his face. Luke also manages customer repairs.
Chris joined our team in 2017. Chris brings years of experience to the team and his knowledge of making machines better is a brilliant asset to our company. Chris works closely with Luke to look after our fleet of machines.
Barry joined the team when Express Gases was developed back in 2015, his knowledge of the gas product is such an asset to the business and his memory for previous deliveries is outstanding. Based at the Hurn site, Barry delivers our Air Products, Calor Gas, Adams Gas, Hobbyweld Gas and Fuel in the Box units.
I moved to Express Hire after having a long standing account with a large builders merchant where I was fed up with the lack of availability. Since moving to Express I’ve not been let down once and there is a far wider range of products to choose from.
