The Chamber is the business organisation in the town of North Shields, with over 100 businesses currently members of the Chamber, it can and does make a real difference to businesses based in the town.
The Chamber is the main representative voice of business in North Shields; with over 100 businesses currently members of the Chamber, it can and does make a real difference to businesses based here. It is a not-for-profit organisation.
The Chamber works with a number of strategic partners, including North Tyneside Council, North Tyneside Business Forum, Invest North Tyneside, Invest North East England, North East Local Enterprise Partnership, the Police and the various transport operators to ensure that North Shields is an attractive place to do business. The Chamber sits as an executive member of the North Tyneside Business Forum and is a member of North Tyneside Retail Task Group.
In addition to working with businesses, the Chamber gives talks and information to local schools; it also works with local charities and not-for-profit organisations to promote their activities across our community.
The Chamber is run by an Executive Committee (all of whom are in business in the town and who voluntarily give their time to the Chamber), which meets regularly to discuss a range of matters which affect the town; all of these meetings are open to all members.
The Chamber is committed to promoting businesses, whether in the town centre, the fish quay, the port, the marina, the retail parks, the industrial and trading estates, the office parks or Tynemouth; and to making North Shields an attractive place for residents and visitors.
