We also help overseas companies bring their high quality investment to the UK's dynamic economy acknowledged as Europe’s best location from which to succeed in global business.

We also work with our colleagues across the Embassy to ensure UK companies benefit from our information and contacts across business and decision-makers in the country.
We helped around 2000 British companies understand the market last year, with direct support for around 150 to enter or expand into the market. This support depended on the needs of the company, and the opportunity in the market, but included contact building, market research, strategic planning and events hosting.
We have established Export to Japan along with British Airways, the British Chamber of Commerce and Business Link Japan to provide you with better access to information about the market, services to help you make decisions about the opportunity for your company in Japan, and for our clients to have access to an ecosystem of real business support from companies based in the market.
We are the major operator at London Heathrow airport, with approximately 50 percent of flights to and from the airport featuring our distinctive red, white and blue branding. We also have a significant presence at London Gatwick, and the wholly owned subsidiary BA CityFlyer is the biggest operator at London City Airport. The airline is both a founding member and integral part of the successful
British Airways listed on the London Stock Exchange in February 1987 and became a publicly listed company, with the initial flotation 11 times oversubscribed. British Airways merged with Iberia in early 2011 under the umbrella of the International Airlines Group (IAG). IAG shares are listed as part of the FTSE100 grouping of leading UK companies.
We have a long-standing history in Japan, and have been flying to Japan for more than 60 years (the maiden voyage to Japan took place in 1948). By operating from two airports in Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), we are able to provide our customers with greater choice and flexibility regarding their travel plans.
We have a joint business agreement (JB) with Japan Airlines (JAL), and the JB provides customers a greater choice of flights as well as better links between Japan and Europe. The code-sharing agreement with JAL offers customers 19 weekly flights between Tokyo and London Heathrow.
