I’ve worked with sports teams, to help them create a winning mindset. I’ve also supported many CEOs and executive teams, instilling the mindset for success in their organisations. I tend to say if there’s somebody out there who is naturally brilliant at what you want to do, take them out of the equation. There’s say one person out of a thousand that is naturally great. Take that person out of the equation and the other 999 who are successful in that area will have a formula in order to be successful. They will do what they need to do to be successful. They might not even know what they are doing to be successful – but they are doing it. Our job is really simple, we need to know what successful people are doing to create their success so we can do the same and we can create our own version of that success.
You might not have the same business as Richard Branson you might not have the same body as Dwayne Johnson but you have your version of it. We have to stop associating success with the person and start associating the success with the actions of the person. Of course their actions are going to be derived from their mindset and attitude and we can develop the same mindset, the same attitude. We can take the same action and then we can expect to have our version of that success.
