The business was originally a small picture framing store established in Manchester in the 1980’s when current director Clive Bradley started the shop with a family loan. As the business became established there were a number of relocations to new premises, and the Manor Art name became ever more popular when it relocated to a store in the centre of the town on Fountain Street.
Clive was then joined in the business by Ray Aston, a local businessman who had honed his sales skills with companies like Kellogg’s, Levi’s, and Wilsons Brewery. Between the two of them, along with a small but dedicated team, they began to develop a real reputation for a quality product backed by a professional installation service. Over the next few years this business grew annually, and a further relocation to the current two unit site on Mills Hill Estate took place as new contracts in the Care home markets and the hospitality sector were secured. Since its humble beginnings as a retail shop on the town centre, Manor Art now produces framed prints, paintings and bespoke products for many of the biggest names in the industry.
In 2013 the business was sold to Shackleton’s Ltd – a respected West Yorkshire furniture business that trades in a number of the same market sectors to Manor Art. This complimentary partnership is designed to ensure that the company can continue to flourish, continue it’s steady growth pattern and expand into some exciting new areas….this ensuring that
Kevin will try tell you that he is simply on missionary work from across the Pennines in “God’s own county” Yorkshire, and being a staunch Leeds United fan, he further adds to the teams eclectic mix of football tribalism at the unit!
