We have brought all of these facets together into an integrated framework, We call the framework Telascope, because it helps bring future horizons into clear focus. It’s not a strait-jacketed, one-size-fits-all solution which blinkers our thinking; instead it provides a coherent set of handrails to help address what is often a very incoherent world.
Telascope brings structure and discipline to what can be a chaotic process when addressing complex issues that concern multiple stakeholders. It helps everyone concerned to express their own perspective and then makes sense of the whole, so that well-informed decisions can be made.
It provides:
A systematic and focused approach that helps communicate ideas to others.
Visualisation of the issues involved that can help to illuminate the relationships between them.
The process follows a tailored progression of activity phases to guide thinking, labelled as the Five ‘Es’. Consultant-facilitated problem structuring techniques are used to build a full Explanation of the problem to enable the issues to be Explored and Examined in depth. Evaluation of alternative approaches to the issue and their relative merits is then undertaken before finally Exploiting the outcomes. A quantitative dynamic model is used to rigorously assess each option and arrive at a preferred solution, enabling a clear action plan to be devised. This provides a structured and systematic approach that ensures all aspects of the issues are fully understood and the influences, boundaries and interdependencies captured.
We engage with a network of partner companies and individual associates, who provide valuable support to our projects. This is not done on the basis of short-term convenience; we value the people in our network, and look to build long-term relationships over years, enabling communities of interest for the benefit of all.
