Finesse Energy became MCS accredited on July 17th 2008 is one of the most experienced installation companies in the UK, accredited to design, supply and install Solar PV systems.
Since the company was founded we have core staff that have been with the company from the beginning and all present staff have been employed by Finesse Energy for at least 3 years and with our combined experience can supply turnkey solutions to a wide range of projects for 0.5kW to 250kW.
From domestic beginnings, Finesse has grown to install for many organisations and has been nominated as the preferred contactor on many occasions. Charter Place, Uxbridge 80kW – £78,000 contact. Start date 16th May 2016 (ongoing) Finesse Energy was the nominated and preferred contractor for an 80kW Solar PV system, part of a £40m development at Charter Place, Uxbridge.
Finesse designed this specific roof top system with Ramboll PLC who nominated Finesse Energy in the contract, and has worked closely with the main contractor prior to commencement of works. And our fitting team started that installation today (Monday 16th May 2016), under a contract with Derry’s and B & K builders. Other relevant experience includes the following:- Finesse Energy’s own domestic database Finesse Energy database of Domestic Installations under the MCS scheme since 2008 – over 1000 installations and over 200 positive Checkatrade feedback reports.
Finesse2014 As a Primary Associate Installer for Solarcentury, Finesse Energy installs many projects under a Framework Agreement Contract. (Since 2011). Contracted works include:- IKEA / HANERGY project – 324 Solar PV installations from 2013-2015 (Finesse Energy have just signed a new contract with Solarcentury for the new IKEA contract, using Finesse energy’s Method Statement of works for all other area installers).
Hampshire County Council (HCC) Schools and Library Installations (February 2016) (Weeke Primary, Kings Worthy Primary, Woodcott Primary, and Lymington Library) New SunStation Launch On behalf of Solarcentury, Finesse Energy fitted the First of their new in-roof PV system which will proved a very cost efficient solution for new build Solar PV systems, saving on tiles, reducing structural roof loadings, and being more appealing visually. The official launch of this system was at the Tate Gallery on May 10th 2016, attended by our Director, Mike Hibberd.
For any cost effective in roof new build or retrofit installations, Finesse Energy can supply and install these innovative PV systems. REI (Renewable Energy Investments) Primary Installer Finesse Energy has installed Commercial Rooftop Installations under the REI scheme as an Accredited Primary Installer. Recent projects include Harwin Engineering in Portsmouth (October – November 2015) for 111.8kW Solar PV system on a new factory roof. The current drop in tariff means that there are not as many PPA schemes available and viable. T and K electrical contracted PV installations Finesse Energy have installed many projects as the trusted PV contractor for T and K electrical. Recent projects include Testwood Crescent, Totton – New Forest District Council – 4 x new build in roof domestic PV systems using the Solarcentury C21e in-roof Solar slate tile (2015) Caversham Lakes, Reading – Environment Agency – 10kW PV (2015) Ringwood Road Alderholt – multiple new build for Code 4 (2016) Rosalind House, Salisbury 15 flats, (2016) (around 1kW each) Zanussi Solar (2014 – present)
Finesse Energy has installed around 50 Solar PV installations on behalf of Zanussi Solar TESLA ENERGY ACCREDITED INSTALLER (Number N-0002575) – Accredited May 11th 2016 Finesse Energy has become one of the first companies in the UK to become an accredited TESLA installer for their brand new to the UK Powerwall Battery Storage Solutions.
Finesse Energy has been an established member of the Solar Trade Association for over 5 years. Company Director, Michael Hibberd, has been an active member, as well as representing the industry and his company with meetings with Chris Huhne (when he was Minister of State for DECC) and correspondence with other MP’s. Steve Brine MP even tabled a Parliamentary Question at the request of our Director at the House of Commons, over concerns regarding the Feed In Tariff changes.
Mike was also part of the Lobbying group that recently descended on the House of Commons. Michael commented, “As an established local installation company, I feel that Finesse Energy is a prime example of how successful and professional this industry can become if given the right support from our Government”.

Finesse Energy has over 9 years continuous trading in Solar technologies, and around 10MW installed over the South of England and with more experience than over 97% of the Solar industry. Finesse Energy
, (we have been involved in over 400 installations on their behalf, both domestically, as part of the IKEA program, and on industrial, school, and commercial properties). We are currently Solarcentury’s Premium Associate Network Installer in the South and have been trusted to install under their banner for over 4 years. we have also installed for, and been the preferred nominated sub-contractor for projects with Radian, Ramboll Plc, Roxan Construction, Swaythling Housing Association, Windsor Homes, Miller Homes, Hanergy (Germany), Spie Construction, and more.
. Systems can be installed on building roofs, or in some cases on ground mount systems. Yield and return calculations are different to domestic properties and there is a tax element on any business (typically Corporate tax and VAT duty on exported electricity generated and sold to the grid, as well as capital allowance in return) to consider.
