of 6 equine vets, 4 of whom are directors. Our vets are all experienced equine practitioners, who deal only with horses. We cover all aspects of equine practice, but have specific areas of expertise in lameness and stud medicine. We have expanded rapidly and now provide care for thousands of horses across our area – ranging from international competition horses and black type broodmares, to hackers and children’s ponies.

Fed up of rarely seeing the same vet twice? With 6 vets, 4 of whom are directors, we can provide excellent continuity of care as well as 24/7 cover, 365 days a year.

Wessex Equine was founded in 2011 by Julian, Oscar and Andy. Having worked for several practices both aboard and locally, they decided to strike out on their own and setup Wessex Equine. The aim was to combine the skills they had learned in hospital based practice and use them to provide a high quality ‘ first opinion’ service to clients at their yard. The practice strives to provide the latest up to date knowledge and equipment along with common sense and a friendly service.

Our 6 vets are dedicated equine clinicians, experienced in dealing with all types of horse from international competition horses to children’s ponies. Our formula is simple: experience, service and the latest in mobile equipment and technology. We are constantly investing in the latest mobile equipment.
