Kirkham Conveyancing Services Limited was originally established in April 2009 trading as Kirkham Conveyancing. At that time we acted purely as a domestic conveyancing company. Two years ago, Kirkham Legal was created in substitution when the company started to offer additional legal services such as wills, probate and lasting powers of attorney.
The company was founded by Bob Bouch and Kathryn Doogue after they both left Pearson Hinchliffe Solicitors in Oldham where they had worked for a number of years; the former, as a Partner/Head of Domestic Conveyancing, and the latter as an Assistant Solicitor in the Domestic Conveyancing Department. Both are now directors of Kirkham Legal.
Intent upon providing an exclusively specialised conveyancing service in their local area, Bob and Kathryn converted from Solicitors to Licensed Conveyancers. Kirkham Legal identified that the greater opportunity to act for both seller and buyer in a transaction would prove attractive to estate agents in particular. On this basis, since the very outset, Kirkham Legal has acted very successfully for the customers of Kirkham Property.
However, as an entirely independent company, Kirkham Legal is ready, willing and able to provide conveyancing services to any estate agents as well as individual clients.
Kirkham Legal started its’ business in Royton in 2009, and since then has established itself as a successful conveyancing and private client legal firm priding itself on its’ local connections and role in the community. Many of our staff live in Royton and its’ vicinity and we are keen to maintain and develop this local connection.
So far this year, we are proud to have been involved in :-
The Dr Kershaw’s Hospice will week event where we donate our services for free by preparing wills for people who then make a charitable donation to the very worthy Dr Kershaw’s organisation. This year has been our busiest yet with our Adele Hallam preparing more wills than she has ever done in previous will week years, resulting in an overall charitable donation of £1585. We would like to thank our generous clients for participating in this promotion and we are sure the money raised will be warmly welcomed by the good people of Dr Kershaws.
We are partaking in the Key 103 Key Mission Christmas Cash for Kids annual event, where gifts for needy children can be deposited at our office, in conjunction with our good friends at Kirkham Property Estate Agents.
We donated £300 to the S.J. School of Dance of Chadderton to help fund their costumes for a dance show that took place at Euro Disney, Paris this summer.
Going forward, we are keen to forge our links with the local community by continuing sponsoring and supporting local good causes.

Once a client is satisfied with the advice we can then proceed to deal with the legal process to release the cash” says Robert Bouch, LLB Hons, Consultant Property Specialist.
“An Equity Release Scheme essentially allows a person to access the capital built up in their property without having to sell up or move out, so it is very attractive to older home owners in need of funds. There are currently 2 types of product, namely, a Lifetime Mortgage, and, what is known as a Home Reversion Scheme. Lifetime Mortgages are the most popular choice, and those taking them out, borrow a proportion of the value of their house with interest being charged on the amount, but without paying anything back until they die, sell or move out of the house (for example into a care home), whereupon the rolled up interest and the initial loan amount is repaid. A Home Reversion Scheme involves you selling a share of your house to the Product Provider for less than the market value of the property but with you having the right to remain in the house for the remainder of your life, and, upon your death or permanent move into a care home, the property is sold and the Product Provider gets their percentage share, at the full market value, back” explains Robert.
