Xtra Mile Events is a professional sports events management company which organises a range of high quality triathlons, duathlons, runs, swims and cycle events across Wales, the North West and Yorkshire. By the end of 2015 we expect approximately 50,000 people to have taken part in our events since we started in 2007.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Xtra Mile Events we see all sorts of fantastic people crossing our finish lines, from those who have not done anything sporty since their last PE lesson, to professionals in the sport. No matter what their level of fitness, most competitors have something in common because they are the type of people who meet a challenge by putting their all into it, and then giving it that bit more – that extra 10%. From the time they set their goals and select an event, during their training, and finally in the effort they put into their performance on the day to get themselves all the way over the finish line, they are personally going their ‘xtra mile’.
At Xtra Mile Events we strive to go the ‘xtra mile’ in all aspects of our business: from the information on our website, to support during your training, to excellent organisation, providing well-run, fun, friendly, exciting events with a brilliant atmosphere, fantastic goody bags, promotions to reward our many loyal customers, and more besides.
It is an elite group of people who decide to go the ‘xtra mile’ in what they do. Sign up for an Xtra Mile Event and see how we go about doing things differently. Join our community on Facebook, and get a flavour of what we are up to!
Founded in 2007, Xtra Mile Events (www.xtramileevents.com) is a professional sports event management company which organises triathlons, duathlons and running events across the North West, Wales and Yorkshire. Our flagship event is the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon which in 2016 attracted over 12,000 runners and had an economic benefit of over £7million to the borough of Trafford. More recently, we have had the privilege of delivering the inaugural Manchester Half Marathon, held in October 2016.
Since April 2017, Xtra Mile Events have been part of Human Race – the UK’s largest mass participation event company, and in turn part of our parent company A.S.O, owners of the Tour de France.
Our community of participants is at the heart of Xtra Mile Events and we communicate with them in various different ways including e-comms, social media, telephone and digital. The Participant Services team make sure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved for every event participant; ensuring that customer experience matches the high level of brand experience that Xtra Mile Events are renowned for.
The role is varied, fast-paced, and at the heart of the day-to-day running of the company. We are looking for someone enthusiastic with a can-do attitude who has the skills and confidence to make a difference.
To enable Xtra Mile Events to run safely, smoothly and professionally we require the regular assistance of a dedicated event crew which is responsible for marshalling, meeting and greeting, race results, catering and goody bag distribution.
We are always on the look out for enthusiastic, energetic people who would like to be part of the Xtra Mile Events team.
We are looking for reliable and active individuals who are passionate about sport and have an interest in gaining the skills needed to pull off a successful event. Anyone will tell you that events are not glamorous; we want crew who are not afraid to get their hands dirty, who thrive on learning new things, who are great with people, like to have a laugh but are hard working at the same time and want to see the events be a success as much as we do!
If you want to join Xtra Mile Events and have a passion for sport we want to hear from you!
In return we will look after you, our greatest asset, by providing expenses, an event t-shirt and the chance to be part of an exciting, growing company.

Xtra Mile Events Transfers/Withdrawals/Refunds Policy
Considerable effort goes into producing an event such as a triathlon. From the moment we receive your entry we expend funds and apply them in good faith in relation to your entry. These costs include fees to the BTF, fees to our payment processing provider, products for goody bags and prizes, venue hire time, and general staffing costs- for example, a significant amount of administration and practical work also starts the moment you enter and continues up until, and even after an event.
