He completed his service with NATO’s Southern Flank joint multinational headquarters based in Naples as the head of planning, policy, training and civil-military engagement. While serving with NATO he accrued considerable understanding and aptitude for complex, joint, multi-agency planning and execution of contingencies stemming from crisis response and management in Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Africa, Middle East and Mediterranean. In 2011 led the rapid planning for NATO’s joint air and maritime operations in Libya and subsequently held the position of operations director for the duration of the 7 month mission to protect civilians under a UN Mandate.
Philip has a deep knowledge and experience of joint operations, both as Chief of Staff UK Joint Forces Command and Chief of Staff ACT. He has conducted an extended tour as the Military Advisor to the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Representative and served as the UK Government's Military Attaché to Washington. His ability to understand the core issues to define the requirement and deliver the required solution is unparalleled and he is a valuable member of the Oakas team.
After a distinguished Naval career culminating in appointment as Vice Admiral, Peter Hudson joins Oakas to provide industry leading expertise on management, leadership and transformational change at senior levels.
Peter's career has seen him rise from junior officer to senior command, with key appointments both operationally and headquarters based. He commanded numerous ships and was appointed CBE in recognition of his work as first Commanding Officer of the assault ship HMS Albion. Peter's later appointments included Commander of the UK's Amphibious Forces and Commander of all UK Maritime Forces which included a spell as Commander of European Naval Forces in the Indian Ocean conducting maritime security operations. His final appointment was as Head of NATO’s new Maritime Command Headquarters in Northwood during which time he served as senior maritime advisor to SHAPE and led the HQ to full operational capability. He brings a wealth of operational Naval and command experience to Oakas and its clients.
