WHO WE ARE
Vortex Creates is the dynamic duo Marianne Taviner and Nicola Richardson who are specialists in large-scale costume. We recognise that every event is different and so it will come as no surprise that we are different!
We LOVE what we do, and this produces consistently fresh and imaginative event design and production, delivering highly creative and innovative results for indoor and outdoor events.
We can work on full production or in collaboration with other professionals from initial concept through to design and realisation or anywhere in between.

Nicola is an experienced Creative Professional, commissioned to bring her unique vision and skills to many projects.
“Sometimes I feel I am the craziest busiest person in the world, but they say if you want something doing, ask a busy person. So here I am. Over the years I have perfected the art of managing a number of projects both large and small at any one time, but to still dedicate time and enthusiasm needed to each one. Early mornings help with this! I feel like a kid in a sweetshop with so many great things out there, it would be rude not to stop and try them.”
“I’ve always been a night owl, it’s when I’m at my most creative. I can’t go to bed until I’ve thrashed out that idea. I work hard and I play hard and I’m not sure which I love the most! I’m a stickler for detail and finish on a product and I’ve a flair for making something fabulous from literally nothing!”
