All holiday makers on our trips are single parents, so you’ll automatically have something in common with everyone. There are lots of fun activities to entertain adults and children alike, and we provide at least one coordinator for all our single parent holidays, so you can relax as we organise the daily activities – you get to choose if you want to come along or do your own thing. Its all very relaxed and you’re bound to make friends and have a good time!
From tents to toddler trips, cosy lodges and cottages, farms to villas in the sun – we have something for all tastes and budgets – in fact, the largest variety of any single parent holiday provider. Our weekend camping trips are a sure-fire way of making new friends. If you’re looking for longer summer holidays abroad, we offer Mediterranean sunshine, fantastic beach holidays, or for something different, why not try a glamping holiday in the UK or a farm holiday? All amongst friends you haven’t yet met…
Knowing that everyone is in the same boat is great. You all get there through different doors but you’re all in the same place which is why single parent breaks work so well. I’ve also made friends with people up and down the country who I would not have met any other way. It’s great that the children have new friends to play with and the adults have some much needed adult company.
For me it was the support from all the people in the same boat as you are. You are never alone there is always someone to chat to and offer advise. The children love the holidays and the extra freedom as much as the adults do. Having started the year never having camped to doing all the camps offered I think speaks for itself.
It’s great that these holidays bring people from what can be a really low point in their lives and help them become more confident and happy and then, when you come back again, you can help others on the same journey.
I found Single With Kids on the internet as I couldn’t face having another holiday sitting on my own while the children played.
Meeting new people from all walks of life and lots of company for Josh which means I don’t have to play football with him anymore! We’ve met some lovely people and Josh is usually in tears on the way home.
The people. It’s great to know there are so many fab, funny people out there all dealing with the same stuff that are all there to help, support and make you laugh.
Elaine lives in sunny Eastbourne with her son Calder and works in personnel at the local secondary schools Calder attends. She discovered Single with Kids when Calder was 6 years old, just as it was getting off the ground in 2008 and he is now 15. She says they” haven’t looked back and wouldn’t holiday any other way; Calder assures me, he will still want to do it when he is 18!” Elaine has been on a variety of holidays from camping to 5 star all inclusive and everything in between, co-ordinating holidays in the UK as well as Majorca, Tunisia, Cyrus and Turkey, where they’ve met some wonderful people who have now become friends.
“Elaine the coordinator did an amazing job of making sure everyone was happy and took what they were looking for in the holiday. Well done Elaine!”
Cath lives in Cardiff with her son Tom who is 12. She first discovered Single With Kids in 2010 and has since been camping, glamping and to foreign shores. Cath prefers sunnier spots but very much thinks ” it’s not where you are, but who you’re with, and with SWK there’s always someone to have fun with!”
“Coordinator Anna was really good and helpful, friendly and accommodating”
