Grandma Brenda, Brighton. Cover fitted three years ago. I’ve had a pond in my garden for years. I love watching the passing clouds reflected in the water, love the busy damselflies, frogs and newts. So when my first grandchild was on the way and I thought I might have to fill in the pond, I was quite bereft. However, my son found Creative Pond Covers on the net and I liked what I saw, so I got in touch. I must say the whole service was first rate. During the design process all my concerns were attended to and my ideas taken into account. The pond is round, and it partly curves into a winding path. This is the main walkway through the garden, so the cover had to be clear of the path. I wanted the cover to echo the curves in the garden, and to look as organic and natural as such a structure could be. All of this was done, and when the cover was fitted, he even helped me to pull out the masses of water lilies that needed to be cut back, so I wouldn’t have to fuss around and do it later! I thought that was an especially kind gesture. Having said that, the design is so clever that getting into the pond to clear it out is no problem. Three years later (fitted October 2008) I couldn’t be happier with it. Every visitor remarks on it, and most people assume I had it fitted for purely aesthetic reasons because it’s so striking and attractive. As for my granddaughter, she pokes her arms through it to try and catch the fish. And I am delighted to say that both she and the fish are perfectly safe, and there’s no way she can fall in however hard she tries.
I first contacted Creative Pond covers in early 2009 when my son was just starting to walk. With the summer approaching we were worried about having two uncovered ponds in our garden. We initially looked into more conventional covers but I thought CPC's were so much more attractive. We felt that they would really add something to the garden and also mean that we could enjoy the ponds as a family - feeding the fish, pond dipping etc - without any worry about safety. CPC's worked hard to get the covers done quickly so that we could all get out in the garden that summer. They were also willing to work within our budget. We were delighted with the covers and had lots of compliments on them. When we moved two years later, our family had expanded to include a now just-walking daughter. We didn't hesitate to contact them again to make another cover for our new pond. Again, we were extremely pleased with the results. We know that it is very easy to remove panels for maintenance , and for nature activities with the children as they older. I think we will keep the cover on the pond even when our children are old enough, as it means we don't have to worry about visiting children, and it is such an attractive feature of our garden. I think Creative Pond Covers is a great company - brilliant idea, expertly executed, and very friendly too.
