ABOUT CELEBRATE HEALTH & FITNESS LIMITED

On average, people in full time work spend more than one-third of their day, five days per week at the workplace, and whilst employers have a responsibility to provide a safe and hazard-free workplace, they also have abundant opportunities to promote individual health and foster a healthy work environment where their workforce is well and resilient.

The workplace is an important setting for health protection, health promotion and disease prevention. The use of effective workplace programmes and policies can reduce health risks and improve quality of life for workers, which we believe that many progressive businesses both agree with and support this aspiration.

Our ‘mission’ is to provide leadership, expertise and practical help in turning this aspiration into a reality…

Our ultimate purpose is to improve health, prevent disease and disability, by helping people develop resilience to the risks (both physical and mental) associated with running a business or working for a company.

For our vision to succeed, we need to educate and support individuals, businesses and leaders by assisting them in implementing strategies and tactics that benefit everyone. Our plan is to produce a set of policies, programmes and initiatives designed to increase physical activity in the workplace, which help foster a culture that supports physically active lifestyles.

Lack of physical activity is an important underlying health risk for NCD-related costs associated with reduced worker performance, however, the potential for business and industry to improve the level of physical activity at the workplace is strong.

By maintaining a healthier workforce you can lower direct costs such as insurance premiums and worker’s compensation claims. It will also positively impact many indirect costs such as absenteeism and worker productivity.

Healthy employees are your biggest asset when it comes to building a successful business, and evidence shows that businesses gain significantly positive results when we engage with employees at all levels – i.e. from the Managing Director to the sales team.

We help businesses provide their employees with opportunities and incentives, which will help them adopt and maintain a physically active lifestyle, and in doing so, develop personal resilience to physical and mental stress.

We provide the resources necessary to support physical activity behaviour adoption and maintenance among employees, including access to relevant expertise, evidence-based behavioural change programmes, and well-qualified fitness and behaviour change professionals.

We ensure the business case addresses the needs of all worksites, especially small and medium size businesses (100 or fewer employees and 101-999 employees, respectively).

Peter created Celebrate after a long career as a soldier. He soon realised that his passion lay in helping people become the best that they could be with a focus on better fitness and healthier eating. As he runs a small business himself, he is very aware of the risks of ill health or injury keeping him from earning a living. It was through this realisation, the concept of “Resilience in Business” was born.

That’s where my love of outdoor fitness training started, would you believe I was doing Boot Camp stuff and running events like “Freddy’s Mud Run” in the early 80’s! If only I had known!

I am a fervent believer that when it comes to food, sugar is the no. 1 culprit for the obesity epidemic and my clients soon discover that “exercise is for enjoyment” and “what you eat determines your weight”. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from helping people make a difference to how they look and how they feel about themselves and to bringing some joy into life. It’s a celebration after all!

P.S. – I also have a company for Personal Training for people at home. It’s called ‘Celebrate Personal Training’ and I serve my clients at their homes and outdoors in and around Milton Keynes.

Sports Therapy was the perfect option for me, and I qualified in 2010 from the University of Bedfordshire with an Honours degree in Sports Therapy. I get great satisfaction from being able to help people every time I go to work. Although I’m not fighting fires or performing surgery, I can provide pain relief and the opportunity to improve someone’s day-to-day life.

Sport and Deep Tissue Massage is my speciality. I believe every gym-goer, sports enthusiast (whether it be football, rugby, running, cycling, netball, swimming or golf) or generally active individual, should treat themselves to at least once a month. It restores muscle tone, reduces tension, improves flexibility, restores muscular balance, is a vital tool in the maintenance of healthy muscle tissue and can help promote recovery from injury. As well as this, it helps relief tension headaches, stress pains, invigorates the body and revives tired muscles.

Massage also plays an important role in expelling excess fluids, toxins and waste from the body. This is perfect to boost general wellbeing and helps muscles to recover at a faster pace.

Tailored to your specific needs, I treat the areas that require attention (i.e. tight, weak or restricted in movement), coupled with a postural assessment, appropriate advice on how to maintain and improve the muscular system through stretching, adapting daily activity and making minor adjustments to your environment.

Faye is without doubt the most accomplished and inspirational role model for anyone looking to “be better.” Second only to her three children, her passion is exercise and training. There are things she struggles with (mainly cardio, running, etc.), but that doesn’t mean she can’t still keep fit and healthy or help others to do the same. Faye trains with weights and competes in Powerlifting and Strongwoman at both at National and International level. She says: “It is great to see what the human body can do when pushed to its limits, I find the whole process fascinating”

At the age of 22 I fell pregnant, to my amazement, and had a perfect baby boy in May 2006, and against the odds my second little boy was born in April 2008, and a baby girl in November 2011. My children are my world, I love spending time with them, going for walks, playing in the park, painting, playing computer games, swimming, or just relaxing, I don’t mind, I just love their company and seeing them grow into beautiful little people.
