Sam grew up on the back of a horse, was usually found helping on friends farms and constantly pestering her parents for more animals of any type to “look after”. Ending up with three ponies, a few lambs, a cat, dog and lots of bunnies as a young girl it was no surprise when she expressed a wish to be a vet. Attending university Sam obtained her BVetMed along with her MA and loves looking after patients of all types and size.
Jo has been with us since September 2015 as part of our Equine Yard team at Barings Field Farm. She has extensive experience of working with horses, spanning over 13 years. For the majority of this time, she was Head Girl and Head Instructor at a busy BHS and RDA riding school. Passionate about horses and animals from an early age Jo loves being involved in the care and management of in patients and helping patients have as relaxing time as possible with us.
With two lovely horses of her own, a slightly mad springer spaniel called Olly and a large extended family at home, Jo is kept very busy but says she would not know what to do if she didn’t have the variety provided by a challenging work life too. In her spare time she enjoys talking Olly for walks in the countryside and going riding with her friends.
Vicky works part-time on the Equine Yard on Barings Field farm. A keen rider, Vicky helps maintain the fitness of the driving horses as well as being part of the team, caring for all inpatients and helping vets with their treatments.
We have had a great September with some lovely weather and a few fabulous clients to keep us company. My dear friend Coco who has been staying with us has moved on to pastures new as planned. It was so much fun having him here and we get on like a house on fire, bringing out the youth in each other! We wished him well on his journey across the English Channel and Vet Viki ensured that he was absolutely fit and healthy to travel before his departure which is very important when there is such a long journey ahead.
girls to make sure they are doing everything correctly. That is tiring in my books!

this year as when I returned the last time I was swiftly put on a diet (apparently I had put on weight, I call it festively plump!) So instead I have been making sure I have been around to entertain my fans.
We opened all of our doors to give everyone a chance to have a look ‘behind-the-scenes’ here at Newdigate Vets. Viki, Sam and Kayleigh were all here throughout the morning to answer your questions and to explain what happens and where, with the help of some very compliant models!
As well as vets, we also had Ray Irwin from Zoetis to chat to you all, answer your queries and to provide you with plenty of information.
