Eastbourne Healthcare Partnership (EHP) is a joint venture between the medical practitioners of Princes Park Health Centre and Apollo Centre for Health, Eastbourne with the vast majority of ownership in the hands of medical professionals. EHP is an established healthcare provider and an NHS partnering organisation. We have been operational in Eastbourne since 2003 from the Apollo Centre for Health. Our Osteoporosis scanning service utilising full DXA scanning commenced operation in 2004, since then we have scanned in excess of 2500 patients a year under NHS contract. Three years ago we installed an X-ray suite to provide digital plain film X-rays from our location, we directly employ Radiographers to ensure that the facility is operational 5 days week from 08:30 to 17:30 to ensure direct and immediate access for GP referrals. Our radiological reporting is carried out by our partnering organisation where the digital X-ray is reported on by radiologist remotely via our secure I T netwok.
We have invested in imaging as part of our core strategy ensuring full compliance with authorities such as Connecting for Health (CfH) for N3 NHS networking, security and confidentiality of information, Picture Archiving Communication (PACS) and Radiological Information Systems (RIS) to ensure that dicom images are effectively reported on by radiologists and the timely transmission of information back to referrers (routinely completed within 48 hours) Eastbourne has been established as our PACS hub for all healthcare partnership image routing. All radiological information is subject to continued audit and peer review to ensure the highest standard of outcomes and security.
Our continued focus is on the healthcare needs of primary care and the avoidance of expensive hospital routes, we work closely with collective GP’s to embrace a holistic approach to prevention and treatment and a belief that this is achievable resulting in better patient care and benefitting the health economy. Compliance, safety and quality are paramount as to are the premises from which we operate. All of these elements are part of the Care Quality Commission Registration and continued audit processes to ensure that the patient receives safe and timely interventions from locations that are accessible.
Eastbourne Healthcare Partnership Limited (EHP) was formed in 2007. The company was set up as a joint venture between Apollo Centres for Health and Princes Park Medical Practice to provide clinical services from a primary care location to meet the needs of the local population and to avoid unnecessary delays in diagnosis and treatment experienced via secondary care.
The company invested in X-ray equipment linked to reporting Radiologists in support of the Orthopaedic Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (CATS) that is now replaced by the MSK East service. EHP also commenced a DXA scanning service for Osteoporosis, the clinical lead for this is Professor Jon Tobias.
EHP directly employs Consultants to clinical lead each of the services provided and has an ethos of “Clinical Led Clinically Driven” combined with doing the right thing for the patient at the right time. We directly employ Radiographers to operate the X-ray system and the DXA scanner that is used to measure bone density and Osteoporosis.
Although we are a private company, 98% of our work is on behalf of the NHS commissioned locally and it is NHS patients who benefit from our expertise and experience in delivering clinical services from fit for purpose, well equipped primary care premises, linked via state of the art information systems that relay radiographic images to consultants for expert opinion and advice.
Sitting alongside our delivered services in Eastbourne, we host other providers both private and NHS that complement our core business from our medical centre.
EHP is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
Provider ID: 1-252959475
Eastbourne Healthcare Partnership Limited (EHP) believes that clinical audit is at the heart of clinical governance. It provides the mechanisms for reviewing the quality of everyday care provided to patients with common conditions. It builds on a long history of healthcare professionals reviewing patient notes and care pathways and seeking ways to serve their patients better by implementing revised patient pathways, seeking the patient’s views and informed choice empowering the patients and placing the patient at the centre of the care plan. It addresses quality issues systematically and explicitly, providing reliable information. It can confirm the quality of clinical services and highlight the need for improvement.
Clinical governance underpins Eastbourne Healthcare Partnership's organisational approach to provide quality services that integrates the perspectives of staff, patients and their carers, and the Clinical Commissioning Group managing our health service. Change in complex healthcare systems cannot be brought about simply by the analysis of data that indicates that care might be less than perfect; clinical audit requires a comprehensive and cohesive effort to contribute, listen and implement.
As part of our commitment to provide quality healthcare we undertake a systematic review in order to improve patient care and outcomes. We undertake to implement change and review processes in order to improve the patient experience measuring care against criteria, taking action to improve care, and monitoring to sustain improvement.
