Quality Management Team (QMT) is responsible for the planning, organisation and direction of the quality management system within Andrology Solutions Ltd. in accordance with appropriate accreditation or regulatory bodies (e.g. HFEA and CPA where applicable).
Sheryl Homa is a HCPC registered Clinical Scientist with a special interest in male fertility. She obtained her degrees in Biochemistry at Imperial College of Science and Technology and the Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London. She spent a large part of her career as an academic research scientist in the field of oocyte maturation, funded by the National Institutes of Health in the USA. For many years she served as Scientific Director of several fertility clinics in the UK working in both the public and private sectors. During this time, she became aware that male fertility is considerably marginalised and as a result, opened Andrology Solutions in 2007 with a view to specialise in this area. Sheryl has collaborated on many research projects and is the author of numerous scientific articles in the fertility field. Currently, she is consultant Head of Andrology at The Doctors Laboratory and an honorary Senior Lecturer in Biosciences at University of Kent, Canterbury.
Iris Khoo graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2010 with a First Class Honours degree in Biology. She studied for her Masters in Reproductive and Developmental Biology from Imperial College London where she developed an interest in male fertility. Iris joined the team at Andrology Solutions in August 2012 and is now working as a full-time Andrologist.

Joanna is a UKCP registered Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Hypnotherapist. She has many years of experience working with individuals as well as couples dealing with issues relating to infertility, obstetric loss and bereavement. Joanna works within both the NHS and the private sector, where she also has a general practice.
After obtaining a degree in Nutritional Therapy, Mel was the Senior Nutritional Therapist at the Zita West Clinic. In 2011 Mel set up her own practice in Central London specialising in fertility and pregnancy, and has recently joined the team at Andrology Solutions giving her expert advice on nutrition for men. Mel is mid-way through a Master’s degree in Nutritional Medicine, a wholly evidence-based course, and is researching male fertility for her Research Project.
Paddy is a Quality Assurance consultant working within the fields of laboratory medicine and clinical trials. He has over 30 years experience of implementing and maintaining quality systems to regulatory bodies requirements which now include the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) and the Medicines Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Paddy also provides solutions for customers requiring accreditation to quality standards under the auspices of Clinical Pathology Accreditation UK Limited (CPA) and the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
Sam Dawkins trained in medicine at King’s College London. Since qualifying, he has worked at University College Hospital, the North Middlesex Hospital and The Doctors Laboratory in London. He has published extensively in the fields of cardiology, urology, anaesthetics and emergency medicine. He works with Sheryl Homa to provide medical input for patients undergoing investigations and treatment. He is also trained to carry out intrauterine insemination.
Nadia Graham graduated from the University of Kent in 2011 with a 2:1 in Forensic Biology. After graduating she then continued into further study at Kent and completed a Masters in Reproductive Medicine. As part of Nadia’s Masters Dissertation she researched the effects of zinc levels on semen parameters. Nadia joined Andrology Solutions shortly after completing her dissertation in August 2013 and is now a full-time Andrologist/Administrator here at Andrology Solutions.
Andrology Solutions was established in 2007. The clinic is licensed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (Centre No. 0293) for processing and storage of sperm, and intrauterine insemination with either partner or donor sperm.
Andrology Solutions Ltd. has put in place a radio controlled liquid nitrogen alarm monitoring system with an autodialler facility to ensure the highest standard of safety for storing sperm.
Andrology Solutions offers comprehensive, up-to-date diagnostic testing for male fertility in collaboration with The Doctors Laboratory, which is a CPA accredited facility.
The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority’s 8th Code of Practice requires a licensed centre to “put in place a quality management system and implement this system to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of the service provided in accordance with the conditions of this licence and the guidance on good practice as set out in the HFEA’s Code of Practice”.
