Fraudsters manage to steal £299,000.00 from a buyer by intercepting their emails and providing false bank details. This took place four days after another buyer lost their £50,000 deposit through a similar act. In 2014 we raised over £8,300 for Will Aid by making a Will for free in exchange for a donation to Will Aid. We are pleased to say the money raised has been shared by 9 UK charities, including ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF in Scotland, Sightsavers and Trocaire in Northern Ireland.
1,233 solicitors’ took part in this initiative and we are proud to say we came 22nd in the Will Aid ‘money raised’ league table nationally and 3rd in the regional league table. We are committed to raising awareness, as well as the important benefits, to making a Will. It is an opportunity to make your wishes clear but to ensure the law does not have the right to a share.
