Penny Banks Ltd is unique in the exhibition and events industry. The company has a true heritage in furniture design and manufacture. In 1966 Penny's father, Peter Banks, pioneered one of the first ranges of 'Perspex' furniture ever designed and produced in the UK. The range was quickly picked up by major retailers such as Harrods and Liberty – it’s name was Penny Banks.
Peter became a world-renowned and highly successful award winning furniture designer. His first commission into exhibition design came in the late 1970’s, when he was approached to design an exhibition stand system and complimentary furniture packages for the London Designer Collections; this later became the prestigious London Fashion Week. Peter Banks played a key part in the launch of this show, designing, producing and installing bespoke elements for the event.

Penny joined her father in the early 1990s as project manager, however quickly moved into design/project management. Having trained as a graphic designer, she had a natural flair for bringing brands to life. Since Peter’s retirement in 2000, Penny has been the figure-head of the company, leading it to further award-winning success.
As well as running the day to day business, Penny is the creative director and always has a finger on the pulse of the latest trends. She has a love for dogs, spends her weekends competing them at agility competitions, and she is well known for her love of flamboyant shoes.
Simon has been part of our team for an entire decade. He has covered a lot of areas within the company, where he began as a driver and installer and just loved chatting and working directly with our clients and quickly progressed to site management. Five years ago he was promoted to Projects Director.
Production Manager
Mike, our production manager, joined the business 2 years ago. He is the man who gets the products built, painted, and shipped to the right place at the right time. He manages our large warehouse and production team, which includes everyone in goods in and goods out, warehouse, upholstery, the woodshop, walling, paint shop and site crew.
