Andrew decided to keep the name of the company when he purchased it to assure his customers that although there was a new owner the quality of the Black Puddings remained excellent. Andrews’s niece Sara Lusty joined the team in 2001 whilst studying for her Law degree. After fininshing her degree Andrew persuaded her to persue a career in black puddings and she became his business partner in 2006. Together they worked to expand the customer base and further the knowledge of this traditional product. With a brilliant team this business strives to provide the quality and excellence that the customers deserve. The defining factor of the Bury Black Pudding is the recipe and our puddings are made from an age old recipe handed down through the generations and dating back to 1879. However Andrew chose to avoid the confrontations with existing producers and chose not to put the word ‘Bury’ in his company name, instead emphasising that these Puddings are Real Lancashire food.
The dish has become very popular in France where it is know as Boudin Noir. Early version of the ‘Blood Sauasage can be traced to in cave paintings at Narbone, Bordeaux and Rheims where blood sausages are clearly identifiable. In France there is a very special organisation named Chevaliers du Goute-Boudin, the ‘ Knights of the Black Pudding’. Black Pudding has changed with the times, a adaptable dish and has been made many different ways by different companies. It has gone from a traveling culinairy delight to a staple food providing sustenece to thos who needed it most. we have won over the past 21 years. We are the highest decorated Black Pudding Makers in Great Britain. Our Bury Black Pudding Recipe dates back to 1879, carefully guarded through generations. And whilst increasing production we have preserved our traditional methods and deliver products of an outstanding quality.
We currently supply a number of supermarket chains and wholesalers, tailoring our product packs and size to their needs. Upholding our traditional beliefs we still supply numerous butchers and Farmers Markets with our Award winning products.
