Our vision is to see God’s kingdom grow in the East of England through healthy churches, living as wholesome communities and engaging in relevant mission.
The Eastern Baptist Association is a family of Baptist Churches situated throughout Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridge. Our fellowship together is so that we can encourage and resource one another for the work of mission, both for each church in its local context, and in things we might do together. Every Church contributes to our wider mission in their own unique way by taking part in enriching relationships, developing ministry and enabling fruitful mission in its own area.
In 2012 Simon was appointed to the EBA Council as Task Group Leader for Mission Strategy and began serving the Association as Regional Minister for the central sector in January 2014. With Chris Duffett he co-authored the book ‘Big Hearted’ and has been a contributor to the IBRA Bible Reading notes. He is one of the two national Pioneer Co-ordinators for Baptists Together, hosts the online version of the mission-shaped ministry course and represents Baptists nationally within Fresh Expressions.
Nick was born in Devon and raised in a Christian family, attending a Baptist Church for as long as he can remember. He gave his life to Christ at the age of 6, at a beach mission on Exmouth Beach. He was baptised as a believer at the age of 13 and not long after that first felt God’s call to be a Minister.
After graduating from Spurgeon’s Nick was called to Brighton Road Baptist Church, Horsham, to work as part of the team there as Youth Minister. During their time in Horsham Nick and Sally were blessed with two children: Tom and Hannah. From Horsham (to his great surprise and delight) Nick was called to work at Baptist House in the Mission Department as a Mission Advisor – focusing particularly on encouraging and supporting churches in their work with children, young people, families and young adults. From there he was called in 2008 to serve as the team leader at Colchester Baptist Church. In 2014 he was called by the EBA to serve as Regional Minister in the Southern Sector of the Association. Nick is committed to encouraging churches to be as healthy as possible in order that they can be free samples of Jesus for their communities
Nick likes to express his creativity in different ways. He is the lead author of ‘Making a Splash’, the Baptist Union’s guide to Believer’s Baptism, and writes his own blog (
