Roger is an independent non-executive director of a London-listed Venture Capital Trust (Downing Three VCT plc), chairman of AIM-listed software company Zoo Digital plc, chairman of mxData Limited, and a director of Charborough Media Limited.
Roger’s early career included a number of senior technical, marketing and general management roles at IBM, EMC and Pyramid Technology in the UK, Italy and the USA. From 1997 to 2006 he was Chief Operating Officer of Interregnum plc, the technology merchant bank, serving as a non-executive director or chairman on the boards of more than a dozen investee companies and founding Interregnum’s Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) practice. A mathematics graduate of Sheffield University and Fellow of the RSA, Roger also holds a certificate in investment management from IIMR, and is Visiting Professor of Management Practice in the Lord Ashcroft International Business School of Anglia Ruskin University.
He has previously worked as a policy and technical expert at Ofcom and the Independent Television Commission for over 20 years.
Rob Ray is Group Director of Digital & Information Technology, the Football Association. He is a senior business and technology executive with more than 25 years in experience including 16 years working in media. He combines real start-up experience with the needs and demands of today’s global corporations. The FA appointed Rob Ray CIO back in 2010. He has worked to ensure that the FA’s centre of excellence, St. George’s Park would be able to bring benefits to the rest of the country, by delivering a set of websites that include content on coaching on a weekly basis. Under Ray, the FA has also introduced the Whole Game system – a single point of administration to deal with affiliation, sanctioning, discipline and finance through an online portal. Rob is amongst Computing’s top 100 IT leaders in the UK.
Graham chairs DVB’s Commercial Module, one of its key working groups defining requirements for digital TV standards. Graham has recently retired from a career in BT where he was a strategy director in BT’s Technology, Service & Operations division. He has been at the forefront of several major innovations in digital media and communications. He was a founder of the Digital TV Group (DTG) helping the UK to be first to launch digital terrestrial TV. He has led BT¹s audio / video conferencing business and launched new products & services including a pioneering conferencing product for desktop PCs. He has worked on BT¹s broadband services, from the early trials of video on demand to the launch of broadband Internet services. He has an honours degree in engineering from Cambridge, an MBA from Cranfield and is a Chartered Engineer (MIET).
Mike Goddard has 40 years’ experience in spectrum planning nationally and internationally in the UK administration. He was a member of the Radiocommunications Agency’s senior management team and was acting Chief Executive of the Agency when its functions were transferred to Ofcom. He was a member of the Board, and for a short period Chairman, of RSI International, a joint venture consulting business in the field of spectrum management. He has played a leading role in the development of spectrum reviews, national spectrum strategies, and more recently the development and implementation of ground-breaking spectrum reform in the public sector. Mike was also Director, Spectrum and International Policy, in the United Kingdom’s communications regulator, Ofcom.
