In 2003, Pilgrims Global earned recognition as an accepted member of the British Security Industry Association and the following year, the company re-branded as Octaga Security Services Ltd.
Based on the Greek word ‘Oktagonon’, meaning ‘eight angles’, Octaga symbolises strength in its shape with the eight sides representing the eight key security services we provide – Risk Consultancy, Asset Protection, Technical Services, Venue Security, Close Protection/RST’s, Surveillance, Training and Industry Profiling.
To date, Octaga is one of the leading security and risk management companies in the UK, holding NSI Status in both Physical Security and Technical Systems; the Industry’s highest Award. We are also accredited in NSI Systems Gold, Safe Contractor and a BTEC Edexcel Approved National Training Centre for SIA Security Training courses.
We are proud to be accredited to NSI NACOSS Gold, covering the full range of design, installation and maintenance of Alarm, CCTV and Access Control measures. This accreditation incorporates several standards and codes of practice for the Electronic Security Industry; BS7499, SSQS101, EN50131-1, PD6662, DD CLC/TS50131-7, DD243, NCP104 and NACP30. Extensively audited twice yearly by the National Security Inspectorate, we conform to the very highest standards of system design in addition to accredited and recognised staff and management competence.
Octaga adhere to BS8507 for Close Protection Services and BS8406 for Events Stewarding and Crowd Safety Services. We are principal members, since 2003, of the British Security Industry Association, the country’s most respected and professional body to represent security managers. BSIA members are at the forefront of the development of standards for private security in the UK, which have risen considerably over recent years. Our Managing Director was appointed Vice Chairman of the BSIA’s Close Protection Group in 2015 and Octaga are principal members, since 2003, of the British Security Industry Association.
As one of the first members of the BSIA Approved Contractor Scheme, we have been among the highest accredited security providers in the eyes of the industry’s regulators for over 5 years. Octaga continue to hold BSIA ACS status for the provision of Security Guarding Services.
The prestigious Acumulus (Safe Contractor) Award acknowledges our commitment to Health and Safety and the welfare of staff. Awarded after a meticulous inspection of our business arrangements and procedures, we are proud to possess this trademark which is recognised nationwide by significant contractors and local authorities.
