Goodacre Boat Repairs and Refits Ltd. are approved by most major insurance companies and are approved repairers for Navigators and General, Sunsail Worldwide and Cranchi motorboats. We have also been used as consultants by Carver boats, Sunyachts, Westerly Yachts, Camper and Nicholson’s, as well as completing large-scale repairs for these Companies. To get this type of recognition takes a lot of time and integrity as well as numerous inspections and countless high quality repairs and refits.
Goodacre Boat Repairs and Refits Ltd are prepared to travel and have experienced qualified crew if boat movements are required. To date we have undertaken repairs all over the world including the Far East, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, all over the U.K. and the Channel Islands.

GBR is a family owned business that prides itself on the reputation for excellence it has built up over the years. Three members of the original family still head up the team of talented craftsmen. Which, though based out of our modern facility in Portsmouth in the UK, has attended to projects all around the world. The high quality of our work has been written about in titles as disparate as The Guardian and Motor Boats Monthly. By building a team of craftsmen well used to problem solving and creative thinking, we have never yet found a challenge to which we cannot quickly rise and deliver the results expected of a top refit and repair team. We believe the key to any business is its people. Our craftsmen are every bit as skilled at their various specialities as you would expect them to be.
Where our team differs is that we are problem solvers. A key demonstration of this approach is the fact that we are very flexible where we work. From our base in South Coast UK we have handled work from Turkey to Thailand, from Greenwich to Grenada. In the wake of Hurricane Ivan the GBR team was called in by a consortium of insurance companies and private individuals to attend to a dozen damaged boats on site (and a further three boats that were shipped back to our yard). Before running water was universally available, the GBR team had rented a house, space in a boatyard and had our mobile team undertaking large scale repairs – returning devastated luxury yachts back to the quality that you would expect of a top rated UK yard. Basically as new !
