We are specialists in designing and constructing gardens for private clients and small businesses.
All gardens have unique characteristics. Similarly, clients have widely varying requirements in terms of what they want from their gardens, how much they wish to spend, and also the type of help they are seeking from garden designers and landscape contractors. We pride ourselves on providing a totally flexible and highly professional service which is tailored to the individual requirements of each and every client.
Alison has been designing gardens since the early 1990’s. Her background includes a successful career in strategic marketing, and an MBA from the London Business School.
However, gardens have always been her passion and, having studied horticulture, and garden design at Reading University, she set up her own design business. She has built up a large and impressive portfolio of successful projects and satisfied clients, ranging from private clients to local businesses, architects and developers.
John has extensive experience within the construction, groundworks, drainage and landscaping sectors, and worked for a large construction company and a local landscape contractor before starting his own business. He had a long association with a renowned local garden centre, for whom he undertook many and varied projects.

Our philosophy is one of working with our clients to produce the plans, and then the gardens, that they desire.
: Scaled drawings showing all new and existing plants and their precise locations. We provide an accompanying planting schedule, which lists all the plants, plus their sizes, quantities etc, and provides an indication of their cost – really a detailed shopping list.

In some cases, we simply provide clients with our thoughts, suggestions and recommendations as regards the layout, content and planting of their gardens. This can be a one off piece of consultancy. Sometimes an “ideas generation” phase can be a useful first stage in the design process, to be followed by more detailed plans once the client is happy that we are on the right wavelength.
ALDA Landscapes’ principal garden designer is joint owner, Alison Tipping. Alison has more than 20 years’ experience in designing a huge variety of landscapes, from large traditional gardens to contemporary outdoor living spaces.
Our in-house team of landscapers are traditionally skilled – they all know their trade & know how to work hard. Importantly, they also know how to treat clients with courtesy and respect. Garden construction is headed up by ALDA Landscapes joint owner, John Hill.
