Harmony Business Support Services Ltd is owned by Rory Stanbridge and Rachel Tyrrell. Rory’s experience encompasses QA, IIP, HR, financial control, marketing and in fact anything that is needed to keep an SME up and running. Rachel’s experience includes design, marketing and event management.
I have been working in the survey and mapping profession for well over 50 years and ran my own survey company for 32 of those. In 2006, I retired from my position as Director with the company that I had started in 1974 to undertake new challenges; the first of these being with Harmony. I am currently Secretary General of The Survey Association, a trade body representing over 175 of the UK’s leading geomatics companies.
The most important thing in my life is my family and I have two fantastic girls, oh and a great wife too. I am a registered foster carer, a business mentor, a qualified squash coach, a treasurer for a shares and investment club and a few other things too. I love travel, music, theatre, socialising and travel. I worked for five years in Africa and still have the travel bug.
My background encompasses working for the National Trust, running my own company producing specialist art work, working for Sony in their marketing department at their European HQ, running conferences for a hotel and also was part of a small team developing software for use by the police.
I enjoyed the variety and honing the skills that I now use for Harmony. I am happily married with two spectacular children. As a family we are enthusiastic members of St Swithin’s church in Lincoln, involved in all aspects of a growing community seeking to make a difference. I love sport of pretty much any description (do you see a pattern here?!) but would place cricket, Formula One, football, rugby and tennis at the top of the list. I am a proud, and therefore long suffering, Spurs fan. I play the guitar and music is absolutely essential to me.
