Learning Works for Children is a family run day nursery based in a spacious building on Carlton Road which benefits from 3 large rooms, a large physical play area and our own Play garden. Our Nursery and Play Scheme has been established since 2006 after moving from our base at Learning Works for Women (previously Notts Women’s Training Scheme, next to Victoria Centre.) We have a dedicated team of qualified staff some who have worked together for 12 years, our aim is still to provide high quality child care, in a safe and caring environment, ensuring that each child receives the opportunity to grow and develop and learn through play.
We acknowledge that children grow up in various family settings, reflecting a range of values and beliefs. We are sensitive to this and believe that all children should be valued and their development made possible in an environment that respects their individual identity, culture and heritage. We pride ourselves on our welcoming homely environment, commented on by many of our visitors.
Learning Works for Children is located at 105 Carlton Road, Nottingham NG3 2FB. It is just across the road from King Edward Park, 4 minutes’ walk to Sneinton Market. We are on the 24, 25, 27, 100 bus routes into town.
At Learning Works for Children we offer full time places for children from 6 weeks to 5 years, and provide a holiday club (Playscheme) for 5-11 year olds. We are open 52 weeks of the year, except for Bank Holidays. Opening from Monday to Friday, from 7.30 am to 5.45 pm,
Mission Statement
At Learning Works for Children we offer full time places for children from 6 weeks to 5 years, and provide a holiday club (Playscheme) for 5-11 year olds.
We are open 52 weeks of the year, except for Bank Holidays. Opening from Monday to Friday, from 7.30am to 5.45pm.
The meals we provide are ‘homemade’ on site from fresh, quality produce, using Halal meat from our local butcher, and organic fruit and vegetables from a local producer.
As a single parent father I was really put at ease with the staff. They really helped me get back on track not just with child care but helped and support me when I was going back to work. The staff have all been there a long time, which shows the nursery must also look after their staff, and after all is said and done, happy staff means happy children :-) I also found the menu book helpful, you can take copies of home made food to try at home. Staff are great, you can really take to them and feel more like friends then just people who look after my child.
