Epic Morocco
was founded in 2005, following a period of extensive exploration and research. The company is based in Marrakech and is still closely managed by its founder. People often ask what makes us different from the many travel companies organising holidays to Morocco, and much of the difference lies in the fact that we are based in Marrakech and owner-managed. Charlie has extensive travel industry experience as well as over a decade of Moroccan exploration under his belt, and these two characteristics, together with a passion for creating ideas and itineraries, make him an expert in his field.

Charlie is the founder of Epic Morocco and has been working in tourism for two decades. After an extensive period of world travel he joined a Latin American tour operator and managed their adventure tours department. After seven years working in London he felt it was time to spread his wings and set up his own company. Epic Morocco was born after a series of visits to Morocco when he and his better half fell in love with the country. His hands-on approach to managing his company has won Epic Morocco many loyal clients and his ground knowledge and local relationships help Epic Morocco to stand out from the competition. He divides his time between creating exciting itineraries, looking after clients, running ultra marathons, and bringing up three young children.
Carla joined the Epic Morocco team as Managing Director in 2017. Borne out of a chance meeting on an Indonesian island where she was working as GM of a small luxury property, Carla’s involvement with Epic Morocco takes us into a new era in our development. With years of client, product and management experience Carla comes to us from the world of international hotel management to try her hand at small business in Africa!
: Carla brings a dynamism and can-do attitude to everything we do at Epic Morocco and we love the fact that despite her experience and stature in the luxury travel world, she’s happy to sleep under a rock or on a roll mat under the stars in the desert!
Penny joined the Epic Morocco team in 2011 and relocating to Marrakech from her native Northumberland meant a radical change in temperature for her. She brings with her over twenty years experience in tourism, including lengthy stints in both Leisure and Corporate travel as well as Event Management. She is at her happiest when travelling herself, so it made sense for her to come to the home of the original Nomads – Morocco. She heads up our Sales team and divides her time between Malta and Morocco.
Penny knows Epic Morocco like the back of her hand and her experience, knowledge of product and her charming way of working with our customers makes her like gold dust.
Mariem, born and raised in Marrakech, is responsible for managing the company’s biggest, most ambitious, and most complicated projects. She has a young son and daughter, has a penchant for nice restaurants, and likes rather too much sugar in her coffee.
: Mariem has gained a lot of experience over the past few years working with us, especially in the field of project management. Knowledgable and well-connected, a true ship-steadier and a safe pair of hands, Mariem is the Rock of the Epic Morocco Marrakech-based team.
Jane joined the Epic Morocco team in 2017 and works from the seaside town of Essaouira. Jane has twenty years of travel industry experience in a number of guises and brings with her a wealth of ground knowledge gained over 15 years of living in Morocco. Jane works as a travel planner (guru!) on our bespoke holiday itineraries and when not planning people’s holidays she enjoys travelling, socialising and spending time in her beloved Essaouira.
Jane slipped seamlessly into her role at Epic Morocco, and despite being Australian, we all really like her a lot (ha, ha). Jane’s cultural experience makes her a favourite with the Moroccan crew!
Hailing from the coastal town of Safi, Naima joined Epic Morocco’s Operations department in 2017 and comes from a background of working in tourism in Agadir. With her new job came a change of lifestyle from the seaside resort of Agadir to the frenetic oasis town of Marrakech. Naima speaks several languages and has a great thirst for knowledge.
Simo is from Marrakech, and is the youngest member of the Epic Morocco team but one of the longest serving. He is a versatile young man who divides his time between assisting the operations team, and helping our guides out in the field. Simo has a creative streak in him and he enjoys making films and DJ-ing.
: Hassan is an early bird, is notable for his punctuality and he has manfully stepped up to the challenge of implementing a completely new accounting system in an Epic overhaul. We are very pleased to have found him and his IT background is of great assistance to us going forward.
Stef joined Epic Morocco in 2015, and brings with her a wealth of private events experience. She is a multi-tasking genius who brings to our events a calm focus and a “zen” attitude. Amongst the work, she manages to find time to practise her passions of yoga and Chinese medicine.
: Incredibly calm, pragmatic and streetwise, Stef is a dream to have working on the events side of our business. Her book of contacts, amassed over 13 years in Morocco, is extensive and it would be hard to find a more capable, energetic and passionate character.
Nouri has been a loyal servant of Epic Morocco for many years. A firm favourite with many many customers who have spent much of their holidays being looked after and entertained by this lovable, and affable giant. Nouri is a proud Berber who hails from the High Atlas Mountains who has since settled in Marrakech with his young family. He enjoys indulging his passion for hiking, and considers himself fortunate as that is his main job for Epic Morocco – as a mountain and desert guide.
