PushON was founded in Manchester in 2005 on the back of Simon Wharton’s and Roy Wilding’s successful development company VirtuAffinity. They recognised a pressing need for quality web marketing in a field that was finding its feet but where expertise and ethics were often at odds with each other.
From the start, PushON’s ethos has been about playing by the rules and following best practice in all our marketing and development operations. We remain committed to that philosophy to this day.
PushON is currently a team of 30+ highly experienced specialists. We have always sourced the most talented individuals and taken on the brightest graduates, and we give them the space and the hands-on training to constantly improve their knowledge and stay up to date with the inevitable changes. We employ specialists in Magento, WordPress, copywriting, paid search, outreach, SEO, web development and graphic design, all augmented by a project managers, team leaders and account managers who keep the work flowing on time and on budget.
PushON is now one of the North West’s most respected online marketing consultancies. Simon was co-founder of the always-oversubscribed SAScon (search, analytics and social conference), which attracts digital marketing speakers and delegates from far and wide two or three times a year. We also have a close relationship with the Manchester Universities, for whom we offer intern placements and send our experts to lecture and advise students.
Splash About has two core markets: direct retail to the public; and trade purchasers (retailers and swimming clubs). But the site had a single user interface, which served individual shoppers reasonably well but was not appropriate for retailers and club organisers making large orders. Also, despite having a growing market, the company had a single UK setup that was making purchases complicated for international buyers.
We divided the retail site into three localised store-fronts, UK, US and France, the company’s core markets. The site detects users’ location and adjusts for language and currency automatically.
