About Greenlane Archaeology
Greenlane Archaeology Ltd provides professional archaeological services to both individuals and the commercial sector, undertaking a range of project types including desk-based assessments, heritage assessments, building investigations, topographic and walkover surveys, watching briefs, evaluations and excavations, post-excavation finds assessments and analysis, house histories, and genealogical research.
We are based in the historic market town of Ulverston in Cumbria, and are dedicated to environmentally- and ethically-sound working practices and helping to support the local economy. The company’s staff pursue a number of archaeological and historical research interests on topics relating to the north west of England, ranging from post-medieval pottery, to early antiquarians, vernacular buildings, and place-names.
If you’re coming to our offices on foot, we are located just round the corner from Bodycare (which is on King Street), opposite the Sir John Barrow mural. The closest parking is in the Buxton Place car park, and from there go to the back right hand corner, past the Olde Ulverston Tearoom, and our offices are on your left.
