We are delighted to be writing this letter to you to thank you and your team at Lewington Homes for the excellent work that you have carried out to help us realise our 'new' home. It is ten months now since we moved back into our renovated house and we could not be happier. You have an excellent team at Lewington Homes who have been very accommodating in understanding and appreciating the needs of our family. Our neighbours frequently commented upon their punctuality and work ethic in addition to the quality of their work. Friends of ours who live in and around the village who have had similar projects carried out with other builders have been particularly impressed with the attention to detail in the finished product. From the outset it has been your attention to detail that has been particularly impressive, beginning with your initial response to the invitation to tender in which each aspect of the project was individually priced to help us understand our building costs, and which afforded us the luxury of enhancing the specification to include some comforts such as under floor heating in the tiled areas. This continued throughout the project where your frequent guidance and suggestions led to other features being incorporated or modified that were either more practical or pleasing to the eye, such as the placement of reused tiles from the old garage to those parts of the roof seen from the road. We would also like to thank you especially for the level of after care service that Lewington Homes has provided. We do and will continue to highly recommend you and Lewington Homes, and are only too happy to act as a reference for any future prospects considering your quality services.
Thank you for doing a great job within cost with no hidden charges. It was very reassuring to have you acting as Project Manager, this meant all trades worked in harmony and went out of their way to make sure I was happy with everything. Matching the bricks for the corners proved difficult but you came up trumps. I have already sung your praises to friends. I hope all continues to go well for you – you deserve it.
Lewington Homes have recently converted our loft into a master bedroom and ensuite. We were so impressed with their service that we also asked them to refurbish our bathroom and will, in the very near future, use them to do our kitchen.
Our initial enquiry was responded to with a visit within three days, and, on submission of our architect's plans, a quote was provided within a week. (Of the other ten local builders we approached, five responded and only two offered quotes, these arriving some six weeks later.) Work started on the target date established some four months prior, and the building materials even arrived during the week before. All work was completed by the end date requested (seven weeks in total). At all times throughout the project, Richard Gray was immediately available (daytime & evening) and resolved queries speedily.
All materials used (eg. light fittings, door handles, timber) were of a very good quality and the end product is impressively robust, easily serviceable and neatly finished.
The price quoted by Lewington did exceed the quotes provided by the two other building contractors that eventually responded to us, however, these quotes both stated that not everything was included in their approximations. Richard Gray from Lewington went to great lengths to stress that his prompt quote included every conceivable expense and, very pleasingly, our final bill did not exceed his quote. All in all we are delighted with the service that Lewington Homes provided. We enjoyed the company of their workers and appreciated their courtesy, care and incredible work ethic. Both ourselves and visitors admire the quality of our loft conversion and bathroom. Without question, we wholeheartedly recommend them to fellow home improvers.
I wanted to write and say how delighted Mum and I are, at not only the finished product, but the way the whole project has been conducted. Trying to organise and manage a renovation from afar was my biggest concern. With your help, patience and guidance our concerns were unfounded. The quality of the workmanship has been excellent throughout and the finish is exactly what I hoped for. Your team was always polite, courteous and helpful to Mum and she has always been treated with kindness. I don't believe she would have received such service elsewhere. Mum has had a new lease of life and this is everything we could have hoped for.
