About SKB Sails

Since taking over the company in 2012 Nick Head, who has been with SKB Sails since his apprenticeship fourteen years ago, has continued to uphold the philosophies of quality, bespoke design and craftsmanship combined with excellent customer service and professional knowledge. Nick heads up a team of six and, with years of experience in sailmaking, cover-making and upholstery, SKB Sails can offer quality in all areas. With our 3000 sq ft / 280 sq mtr loft floor SKB Sails are big enough to cope with any jobs, whilst being small enough to care about quality personal service.

In our purpose built 3000 square foot loft SKB Sails merges traditional sailmaking skills and eye for detail along with the latest CAD design software from Sail Science and our own in-house Aeronaut cutting arm. Coupled with performance sail cloth, threads, tapes and hardware we can guarantee the quality of our sails.

SKB are also proud to offer a top quality bespoke cover-making service. From hatch covers and Dodgers to Sprayhoods, Sailcovers, Bimini’s and Cockpit tents through to over-all boat covers and winter lay-up covers, we offer a complete service of patterning, manufacture and fit.

Our marine upholstery department provides a complete design and make service including patterning and tailoring new foams to create seating and sleeping solutions suitable for any area.

We also offer a complete repair, laundry and storage service and will do everything we can to help you keep your sails and covers going as long as you require.
