Stewart started as a carpet fitter when he left school over 30 years ago. As an apprentice carpet fitter his job included fitting carpets, laying vinyls and the old fashioned linoleum. He worked for the Co-operative Society and Queensway. In the early 80’s he started working for himself as a carpet fitter. He then had to learn about the horrible admin tasks that come with running a small business like book keeping, marketing and advertising.

Stewart is passionate about carpet fitting and floorlaying being done right or not being done at all. This is why he invests in training his own apprentices and is actively involved with the National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers (NICF). Stewart Groom, his carpet fitters and floor layers know that a badly fitted carpet or floor will always look bad whatever your budget is. This is why Stewart does all the estimating and takes time to explain to his customers how the floors will be prepared, what accessories will be used and where joins (if necessary), will be made. We have been supplying and fitting carpets in Leicestershire and surrounding areas since 1991. Before that Stewart worked as a carpet fitter in Northamptonshire for his father and the Co-op.
Stewart Groom Flooring Ltd offer a shop at home flooring supply and installation service in Rugby, Lutterworth, Daventry and the surrounding villages. We do not have a retail outlet, but bring a wide range of samples to you at home.
