Welcome to New Forest Gift Company
Hello, we are husband and wife duo David & Deborah. We are passionate designer makers & owners of New Forest Gift Co. We specialise in personalised gifts for weddings and other family occasions, home design & furniture. All our items are produced by ourselves in our studio & workshop in the New Forest, Hampshire, UK.
Whilst in my final year I was delighted to be awarded a Design Scholarship by 'The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers' for two of my designs, a dining table and a lounger, both of these pieces still have pride of place in my family home. This scholarship allowed me to spend an incredible three months in Milan, Italy meeting with furniture designers & makers and visiting studios and galleries, it was truly inspirational.
After qualifying I worked for several years in a design studio in Covent Garden, London. Whilst this was a fantastic and vibrant atmosphere in which to work, all my family, including my new wife Deborah, still lived in Hampshire, so seeing them only at weekends made it time for a change. I had the opportunity to leave the ‘Big City’, return home to the country and go into partnership with my Dad. Together we ran the family DIY business & timber yard, my knowledge of wood, materials & construction certainly came in very useful for giving advice to customers! When it was time for Dad to retire, I decided to return to designing and creating, as it has always been my true passion, this is when New Forest Gift Co. was created. Deborah’s background was in IT and having taken a career break when our two daughters were born meant she could join me on this exciting venture in 2004.
We hope you love our products as much as we do! We are always refining and creating new items to add to our range and when we are not busy in the workshop, as we all need some downtime, we can be found enjoying family life, the occasional pint of Ringwood Brewery craft ale (the local tipple), and walks in the glorious New Forest!
