Optical Metrology Services (OMS) is a UK-based company with satellite offices in the United States, Brazil and Kazakhstan. Tim Clarke serves as the Managing Director of Optical Metrology Services Limited. Dr. Clarke is a renowned expert in the field of photogrammetry, having published more than 60 academic papers and reports for the technical press and other media. In 1999, he appeared on the BBC's Tomorrow's World programmed. Dr. Clarke has won several awards, including the prestigious Photogrammetric Record President Prize. Prior to setting up OMS, Dr. Clarke was sole trader of Optical Metrology Centre (OMC), a spin out business from City University, London, which offered products and consultancy in two main areas: 3D measurement using Photogrammetric techniques and pipe measurement using proprietary profiling tools.
Head of Global Business
As Head of the Global Business for OMS, Paul has a strong background leading large teams. Since joining the company, he has been instrumental in driving innovation and efficiencies through to existing products and services. Paul and his team work extensively throughout the world with major operators, installation contractors and fabricators on critically important projects. More recently, Paul has been involved on challenging inspection projects utilising capabilities which have seen OMS carry out its first vertical offshore riser inspection, and also inspecting the pull tubes on the world’s largest Spar - Aasta Hansteen - for Statoil. Paul and his team are now focusing on driving innovation for new sectors including renewable and nuclear. Although Paul’s rugby days are over, he remains an avid fan, is an RFU qualified coach and manages his local colts side.
Richard is a Chartered Engineer with twenty-three years professional experience in developing complex mechatronic systems. Since joining OMS in 2010, he has lead the development of the innovative inspection and dimensional measurement equipment that is in use daily on projects around the world. Richard leads an experienced, dedicated and highly qualified team of mechanical, electronic and software engineers at our Stansted head office. He has performed many on-site inspection projects, particularly when new product developments are being deployed into the field for the first time.
As Finance Director of OMS since 2008, Mike is responsible for all financial aspects of the business, including expansion, acquisitions, development, regulatory issues, and in providing a strong financial platform for future growth of the business. He has joined the OMS management team on a full time basis in July 2014. Mike has been a part-time finance director for a variety of clients ranging from tech-based start-ups to manufacturing, importing and wholesale companies.

OMS provide services and technology to inspect, measure, visualise, verify and correct asset defects in hard to reach locations such as pipelines, ducts or conduits. Potentially problematic conditions including shape, ovality, wear, dents, protrusions, wrinkling, oxidation, discolouration, corrosion, contamination or erosion can be determined prior to carrying out remedial activities to address the issue. Comprehensive software reporting allows clients to understand measurements and fully assess the extent of defects in order make decisions towards a solution.
