We have developed great working relationships with our clients, taking a supportive, hands-on approach from analysis and design, through to production management and guidelines.
Ian Whybrow
Ian has been designing and implementing wayfinding projects for over twenty years. In 1997 he founded Whybrow specifically to major in all aspects of wayfinding design; human behaviours, analysis and strategy; detailed development, product specification and implementation management. Ian is by nature collaborative and works closely with clients, architects and other stakeholders, helping to deliver successful wayfinding schemes.
As well as developing recent wayfinding schemes for the British Museum and Tate Britain, Ian has also worked on business parks such as Notting Dale Village, Regent’s Place and Greenwich Peninsula.
Mary-Anne is our access consultant. She has a wealth of experience in guiding businesses – making their goods, services and facilities inclusive and meeting the needs of as many people as possible.
She has a robust understanding of the importance of inclusive design and regularly works with design teams responsible for hardware, software, digital and the built environment. She sees her role as applying the ‘inclusive lens’ that helps clients give a barrier-free experience to all their customers and service users.
“Navigation in our 5 Pancras Square building was a challenge: with a wide range of multi-use public and private spaces, it was critical that visitors and staff felt immediately at home and could find their way around with ease. Whybrow has designed wayfinding that is logical and intuitive, and the use of coloured zones brings added vibrancy to our wonderful new building.”
“We were impressed not only by Whybrow’s robust and methodological approach to wayfinding for the Turner Contemporary – which will future proof the visitor experience around the building – but also by their creativity and their commitment to collaborative solution-finding.”
“I have worked with Whybrow Limited for over a decade and have found their work on wayfinding signage for our shops to be very thorough and delivered successfully.”
“Whybrow proved incredibly efficient and flexible in working together with ourselves, The Lanesborough, the interior design team, the architects and project managers to deliver an extraordinarily professional service. Given the scale of the hotel renovation and the fact that this ran concurrently with the wayfinding installation, the project was at times a very complex one to manage. The team are incredibly knowledgeable, yet receptive and open to ideas from the start.
We see a fantastic relationship with Whybrow. Their proven dependability is increasingly hard to come by.”
