A. We are very lucky to have many really good places to eat out within a 5 – 25 minute drive of Dannah, to suit all tastes and pockets. As keen “eater outers” ourselves, we have a carefully chosen list of the ones we especially like on our website. Look under
Some guests don’t realise that we are licensed and bring their own wine. If guests do this and ask for ice/glasses, etc then we do make a charge for corkage. Similarly guests leaving behind their own empty bottles will be liable to a small discretionary disposal charge. This is because in order to be able to provide alcohol on sale to our guests we have to go through a lengthy and costly licensing process.
. This also means though that we have virtually no passing trade, our rooms are booked in advance, often a long time in advance, making it very difficult to re-let cancelled accommodation at short notice.

We are privileged to live in such an unspoilt and beautiful place, on the fringes of Britain’s first designated National Park. We try to run Dannah Farm in such a way that it had a minimal effect upon our environment, and listed below are some of the practices we adopt to help us do this.
As farmers, as well as accommodation providers, we are members of FWAG, (farming and wildlife advisory group), and participate in DEFRA’s Environmental Stewardship scheme.
Promote local attractions and businesses with an array of information leaflets.

Dannah Farm Country House is set in secluded countryside, and offers a choice of rooms. We are committed to meeting the needs of all our guests, but due to the age and layout of the property, we lack facilities for guests with severe mobility limitations. However, we try and make our house as accessible as we can, and welcome enquiries from guests with disabilities, when all reasonable attempts will be made to meet their needs. If in any doubt, please ring, fax or e-mail your query – we are here to help!
We are located in a very peaceful, beautiful and rural environment. We are situated on a public, unclassified road, and not ideally suited to those traveling without a car. We do, however, have copies of all public transport timetables available.

If guests are planning to arrive after 9pm, we ask that they inform us of their expected arrival time so that we are sure to be on hand to welcome them.
Guests are welcome to use the sitting rooms at all times; we are licensed for the sale of alcohol, and have an honesty bar.
All bedrooms have extensive hospitality trays with a selection of Coffee/chocolate/tea, etc. Fresh milk is provided on request.
Extensive guest information is provided in each room.
Smoking is not permitted in any indoor area, but guests may smoke outside and sand buckets are provided for the safe disposal of cigarette ends.
