About Cammad
Cammad was founded in Hong Kong in 2000. Today, we are a limited company with branches in Hong Kong and the UK. We have edited thousands of papers and hundreds of theses for academics and students throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Our clients have included faculty at universities in Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Macau, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, and the USA.
Peter set up Cammad in Hong Kong in 2000 after working for several years as an English teacher, researcher, and editor in Hong Kong and mainland China. He has a BA (First Class Honours) and a PhD in comparative literature from The University of Hong Kong (HKU), a BSc (First Class Honours) in psychology from The Open University, and an MLitt (Distinction) in intellectual history from the University of St Andrews. He has taught film studies at HKU, written papers on e-commerce at HKU's School of Business, worked as a senior researcher for an investment management company based in the UK, conducted research and graded undergraduate papers for the Department of History at the University of Virginia, and carried out research for the Institute of Intellectual History at the University of St Andrews. This background in teaching and research, across different academic fields and often in a Chinese context, has given him a privileged insight into the language problems that Chinese and other non-native English-speaking academics face when they are writing papers in English. Over the years, Peter has assembled and trained a team of academic editors who have helped hundreds of scholars publish papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
Jenny achieved a BSc (Upper Second Class Honours) in behavioural biology from Aberystwyth University before amassing several years' experience in project management and marketing from both the private and charity sectors. Having travelled extensively, and with a keen interest in languages and academia, Jenny was drawn to work for Cammad with the company's international focus and long-standing clientele. She has been working for the company since 2012 and is also currently studying part time for an MSc in animal welfare science, ethics, and law at the University of Winchester.
