Welcome to Rainbow Day Nursery, our nursery opened in July 1986, and we are proud of our outstanding reputation for providing excellent childcare and education. The nursery is situated just two minutes walk from Newcastle under Lyme town centre and Newcastle College, the University Hospital of North Staffordshire is two minutes by car.
We are open 51 weeks of the year from 7:30am to 6:00pm. We close on Bank holidays and also for one week at Christmas time.
All of our staff are qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in childcare, several staff have, or are working towards the Foundation Degree in childcare. We have a Senco trained worker in place who offers expert help and advice to any parent who has concerns about their child’s development or any special needs a child may have. We work closely with other professionals such as a speech therapists, health visitors, play therapists, etc.
We have a full time cook who provides us with delicious home cooked meals using all quality, fresh products. We have a breakfast, a 2 course lunch and an afternoon tea. Fruit and drinks are available throughout the day. We have a healthy eating award and are working towards a healthy lifestyle award, where not only dietary requirements are monitored but also the amount of physical exercise the children get involved in.

Rainbow Day Nursery is open 51 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6pm and situated a convenient distance away from the town centre of Newcastle-under-Lyme. We provide a safe, clean and happy environment for your children aged from 0 – 5 years, working within the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure that your child goes to school with a good base level of skills required to help them to adapt to school life. Numeracy, literacy, including phonics, physical development and communication are all included in our fun curriculum. Children are kind and caring to each other and enjoy their new friendships.
