We are a high quality foam manufacturer located in Tavistock, Devon supplying directly to wholesalers in the UK, Ireland and Europe. We are a close family business and love nothing more than working together to make our customers happy.
We have a wide range of products available and we are extremely proud of the quality of the foam we make, we all work hard to ensure that it is tested to the highest standards. It is firm, easy to handle and soaks up lots of water, it also has great consistency which is our main priority.
Before floral foam developments, florists would use wire and moss to create more adventurous shapes for their floral designs. This challenging process involved florists using wire to create a shape which was then filled with a moss to help hold the shape before any flowering or decoration.
Val Spicer is still a family run business with several Spicer’s still running the business established in 1995 by Val Spicer. However, we consider the whole of our team to be family.
We believe our team is the secret to our success and we wanted to introduce the individuals who bring you the wide range of floristry products that you have come to rely on.
Martin and Jay are the proud owners of Spicer Designs. They both work very hard to achieve the very best for both our staff and customers. Martin is responsible for the production side; he is general manager of the factory floor. Jay is responsible for researching new products, designing 3D shapes and development in the business.
Charlotte and Rebecca work in the office and make a fantastic team. Rebecca is our finance manager and Charlotte is in charge of customer services. Together they work very hard achieving the best for Spicer Designs.
Jason, Ron and Tina are in charge of making sure our letters, ribbon and relatives are perfect.
Our shrink wrapper team perform the vital task of packaging our finished product ready for dispatch.
Luke works very hard making sure that the factory is always clean for everybody and helping out with any job that needs an extra hand.
Sean is responsible for picking orders and packing our pallets ready for dispatch. Andy is in charge of making up letter bars, placing stock in the warehouse and also helping in dispatch.
Graham, Simon, Chris and Ryan are responsible for the production of our floral foam which then goes into the factory to be processed into the range of products that you see on this website.
Ben is responsible for making up the thousands of relative frames that we sell ready for gluing.
