We do not sell on-line due to our stock constantly changing and many one-off pieces. New things arrive every day, so come and visit us and spend the day by the sea!
The buying team (Emma and Gemma), spend a great deal of time sourcing new and original products from all over the world, from hundreds of different suppliers. If you can’t find what you are looking for, do call or email – we may well be able to find it for you!
Velvet is a family business, set up in Brighton in 2000 by Emma. We are very much a family business, with Emma’s Mum Iris running the accounts department and Emma’s Dad, George (aged 82) still a very active member of the team! Emma and Nick’s boys Oscar, Sam and Monty often in store too! The girls who make Velvet one of the best stores in the South are Manager and buyer Gemma, Assistant Manager Ellen, Senior Sales Grace and Ella, and our lovely weekenders Sarah, Sophia, Tara and Freya.
