, which has been enacted yesterday 30 March, home owners will now be able to host guests in their homes for up to 90 days in the year without having to obtain planning permission from their local authority, as required by current legislation (Section 25 of the Greater London Council Act 1973).

“Cranley Mews is a true hidden gem. "..." It’s in a real neighborhood and a very desirable one at that. But it was the actual mews house that we loved. Having the living area upstairs and the two bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs really works. The fact that the stairs separate the bedrooms gives a lot of privacy. Upstairs there are lovely tall windows letting in tons of light (and providing a charming view) and a very high ceiling plus a skylight in the kitchen. The feeling is incredibly open. The furnishings are cozy and colorful and there’s a lot of interesting but subtle art on the walls. "..." It really felt like home and we can’t wait to go back. The managing agent was very efficient and charming making it all easy for us including organizing a car to meet us at the airport. Their rep showed us around the house and answered any questions we had plus there’s a helpful binder of local info in the house. Plus their office is right around the corner if there are any issues. All in all a superb place and we look forward to staying there again. There’s no reason for us to look further—we felt Cranley Mews was perfect.”

According to The Greater London Council Act 1973, all London residents who fail to secure a planning permission for holiday rentals can incur in a fine of up to £20000. However, as become evident during the Olympics 2012, this clause has been inconsistently applied by local authorities, giving rise to confusion and uncertainty.
