But what about the smaller independent companies, or individuals, selling ‘Dog Treats’ they have produced themselves?
Do the treats you buy for your Dog contain any Animal By-products, such as Meat or Eggs? If so then they should have originated from a DEFRA approved Pet Food Plant. Essentially, if someone is selling Dog Treats they have made themselves, then they should be able to demonstrate that they have the necessary approval.
Anyone selling Dog Treats that they have made themselves should also be registered with their local Trading Standards office.
